Latchi Beach at night Dan isn’t usually the romantic type but after dinner on a warm summer evening at a waterside restaurant in Latchi he suddenly took me by the hand and led me down to the sea on Latchi Beach. Falling back into the sand, which still held some of the warmth of the day, we were rewarded with a panorama of the heavens in all its glory. The Milky Way snaked across the sky, Venus, planet of Aphrodite, glowed brightly in the sky and if we were quick enough we’d spot shooting stars burning out as they raced across the inky sky. Maybe it was the oysters we ate but I felt like it was our first date all over again! Pamper Day Dan is a real man, so I was a little worried asking him if he’d like to share a pamper day at our hotel. “Come on,” I said, “It’ll be romantic and relaxing” He’d had a busy time at work so I knew this would help. Twenty minutes later we were soaking our worries away in a scented Jacuzzi with rose petals floating on the surface while candles cast a warm romantic glow accompanied by calming music. The staff brought us champagne to sip and I could easily have drifted off (I think Dan did!). He awoke as the beautician whispered in his ear that it was time for the couples massage. After he got over the initial shock of wondering where he was, we lay side by side in soft light being gently massaged by the expert staff. When the pamper day was over we dreamily wandered hand in hand back to our room and….slept until morning!! At least it did him some good! A Romantic Meal Our last night and Dan decided it was his turn to organise something special. The lights on the harbour side lit up the Venetian walls behind us and at the stunning restaurant we were welcomed by the charming and immaculately dressed manager. Pure white napkins were laid on our laps and an entrée of oysters delivered to our table, accompanied by a bottle of champagne! It’s got to be seafood for a romantic meal and we both ordered the locally caught lobster which was cooked to perfection. As time drifted by we left just enough room for a heavenly chocolate dessert promising to walk off the calories by strolling arm in arm along the shore back to the hotel.
