Mountain biking in Cyprus CTO, in association with the national parks and landowners have begun to develop specific mountain biking routes in many parts of the island including Troodos and Akamas. Beyond these there are many hundreds of kilometres of trails suitable for mountain biking as long as you have a map and a good set of wheels. Springtime is perfect for the sport and your routes will reward you with the Cypriot scenery at its best. Bikes can be hired cheaply from all main towns and plenty of villages near the trails. Scuba diving in Cyprus I’d never thought of the Mediterranean as a dive destination to rival the Caribbean or Indian Ocean but a visit to one of the many dive centres around the island will reward you with dives to remember. From reef diving to cave diving, wreck diving to open water dives there’s so much to see in the clear, warm waters. As on land, many indigenous species inhabit the island’s waters so get down and personal with our fishy friends. Golf in Cyprus The island’s wonderful climate means that a round is possible on nearly every day of the year. Recognising this, developers have constructed courses to world class standards all over the island and in particular in the west to appeal to the local expatriate community. Equipment can be hired and most courses don’t require membership, allowing you to try them out before making Cyprus your winter golfing destination. |
