Kyproksella on tarjottavanaan upeita rantoja, jylhiä vuoristoja, arkeologisia nähtävyyksiä ja kosmopoliittinen ilmapiiri. Saaren matkailupalvelut ovat moderneja ja 2000-luvun laatuvaatimuksia vastaavia. Kypros eroaa Kreikan ja Turkin välimeren kohteista ehkä juuri vauraudellaan ja erittäin omalaatuisella kulttuurillaan.

Kyproksen ilmasto on lämmin ja aurinko porottaa yli 300 päivänä vuodessa. Kesällä (Touko - Syyskuu) lämpötila on todella kuuma, usein yli 40 astetta, syksyllä ja keväällä (Loka - Joulukuu ja Maalis - huhtikuu) Suomen kesää vastaavat n. 20-25 astetta. Sydäntalvikaan ei ole lainkaan huono aika matkustaa Kyprokselle. Päivät ovat usein leutoja ja virkistävän aurinkoisia ja merivesi on uitavan lämpöistä, jopa helmikuussa.

Monelle suomalaiselle Agia Napan rannat ja baarit ovat tuttuja 80- ja 90-luvun pakettimatka-ajoilta. Juuri nyt olisi oiva aika palata Kyprokselle uudestaan löytämään saaren uudet rantalomaparatiisit tai viettämään ainutlaatuinen vuoristoloma Troodoksen lämminhenkisissä Alppikylissä.

Kyprokselle pääsee Suomesta kesäaikaan suorilla Finnairin lennoilla tai matkanjärjestäjien tilauslennoilla Pafokseen ja Larnakaan. Omatoimimatkailijoille löytyy myös edullisempia lentoreittejä lyhyillä vaihdoilla ympärivuoden Helsingistä Larnakaan tai Pafokseen.

Kyproksen hintataso on yleisesti ottaen hieman Suomea edullisempi. Turistialueilla tosin pätee sama sääntö kuin muuallakin maailmassa; laatu ei vastaa aina hintatasoa ja sama tuote irtoaa kilometrin pasta puoleen hintaan.
