Population: 140,000 (Oldest city of Cyprus with largest salt lake in Europe and one of the best wreck dive sites in the world) Larnaca city is a fusion of residential and tourist areas and it has the largest International Airport. The main town consist of intermingling old town streets and wide boulevards. Larnaca is an industrial town with expanses of beach and many historical and cultural sites. There are lots of old fashioned beautiful villages hidden away around the Larnaca area like Lefkara and Kato Drys that are definitely worthwhile visiting. |

I got up early and went down to the marina. I picked up a coffee and a huge slice of baklava for breakfast – you can tell I’m not worried about my waistline! Found the perfect seat on a crate planted quayside and leaned back against the harbour wall. There are long areas of safe, sandy beaches which stretch for miles along the coast in Larnaca.
